ANTIGONISH WOMEN’S RESOURCE CENTRE BENEFITS FROM $1 MILLION FEDERAL INVESTMENT

Five-year funding will support the organization’s Healthy Relationships for Youth Initiative.

With a $1 million investment over five years, the Antigonish Women’s Resource Centre and Sexual Assault Services Association will be helping over 1200 local youth grade 9 students learn about building and maintaining  healthy relationships.

The $1 million investment is part of the Liberal government’s strategy to combat gender-based violence nationally, while recognizing that the work must begin at the community level. The Centre has been developing and facilitating programs to support women and girls through a variety activities and education measures. Our government will always support community organizations that help advance gender equality, combrat gender-based violence, and empower women and girls.
