Sean Fraser is a dedicated community leader who grew up in Pictou County, where he and his wife are raising a young family of their own.

Having been raised as part of a big family with two school teachers for parents, and having served as a representative for our region over the past four years, Sean has a deep appreciation of the unique needs of our communities, and the incredible potential they hold. He understands what it takes to build stronger communities, create good-paying jobs, and help families with the cost of living right here at home.

Prior to entering politics, Sean built a successful legal practice as a commercial litigator with one of Canada’s top-ranked law firms, and studied international law under a Judge of the International Court of Justice and a Former Secretary-General of NATO as part of his Master’s Program in The Hague in the Netherlands. He also spent time working as a human rights lawyer for marginalized groups and individuals in Johannesburg, South Africa.

During his first term in Parliament, Sean has succeeded in delivering significant investments to the communities he represents. These federally funded projects include: a newly twinned Highway 104, the clean up of Boat Harbour, 9 new wharves for the fishery, a replacement for the aging PEI Ferry, a year-round Farmers’ Market in Antigonish, a tourism strategy for the Eastern Shore, a new and modern NSCC facility for the skilled trades, and a new Institute of Government and Centre for Innovation in Health at StFX.

He has also helped advance some of the federal government’s policy initiatives including investments in mental health, implementing the Canada Child Benefit, securing a new NAFTA deal with the United States and Mexico, advancing a plan to protect nature and fight climate change, and putting forward measures to advance gender equality in Canada.

Our communities need a strong voice in Ottawa and a vision for what our region could become. We need someone to advocate for a better future for our families, a healthy environment, and an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few.

Sean Fraser has a proven record of success at the highest levels of the Canadian business sector, in protecting some of the world’s most vulnerable from discrimination, and in promoting action on climate change in the House of Commons.

Sean will work tirelessly to defend the interests of our region and its people, and will ensure that the residents of our communities remain at the heart of his decisions in Parliament.
