Protecting our oceans and waterways is essential. That’s why we established the Coastal Restoration Fund. This program has allowed us to invest more than $2 Million to help restore critical habitat for Atlantic Salmon in the St. Mary’s River in Sherbrooke and the West River in Sheet Harbour. Both rivers provide a key habitat and spawning ground for endangered Atlantic salmon.

These investments will see watersheds and coastal habitats restored to encourage salmon to return to their natural environment, and make the local ecosystem more hospitable for the population.

These investments will support the important and ongoing work of the St. Mary’s River Association and the Nova Scotia Salmon Association.
