Investment aims to increase pollination of wild blueberries through research supporting the health and productivity of the honey bees.

Nova Scotia is the Blueberry Capital of Canada, but the sector faces challenges which the federal government is addressing.

Climate Change is having an impact on the health of honey bees, which poses a significant challenge to our agriculture sector. By investing $800,000 to support research on honey bees and the blueberry sector, our government is working to ensure the blueberry sector remains vibrant for generations to come. Working closely with researchers, this investment will help identify ways to increase the productivity of bees and improve their health while increasing the yield of blueberries in our fields so we can put more Nova Scotians to work.
