NEW FARMERS’ MARKET SET FOR ANTIGONISH THANKS TO $700,000 FROM FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

NEW FACILITY WILL PROVIDE MORE VENDORS SPACE TO SELL GOODS YEAR ROUND

Thanks to a $700,000 federal investment, Antigonish will soon be getting a new Farmers’ Market. The current market is faced with limits on space, and has to turn down more than 50 vendor applications each year. With the new facility, Antigonish will be home to one of the premier year-round Farmers’ Markets in Atlantic Canada. Part of the investment will also be used to develop a marketing strategy to help vendors advertise and sell their products online, reaching new markets for fresh produce, local crafts, and other goods.
